The Newberry Family run the restaurant wanted to provide a service everyone could enjoy. Since taking over the restaurant over 20 years ago they have stood by their simple, yet effective mission statement – the restaurant should have table cloths on all the tables, the food should to be freshly prepared and there should NEVER be double bookings.
Manager and Head Chef, daughter, Helen Newberry is highly skilled and very passionate about the food she prepares. Presentation is an art form and the food looks far too good to eat!
Staff members are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and have worked with Helen for years. Doris is a particular favourite tho’ very quiet, and John is entertainment personified!!
If ever you are out walking (the National footpath passes our door), we are more than happy for you to call in for cold drinks, tea or coffee and cake in the stunning garden – the only problem is once you’ve relaxed and taken in the incredible views, it will be difficult for you to start walking again!!
Planning a celebration party? We are happy to take private bookings for all kinds of parties – Birthdays, Weddings etc and can provide a marquee on the lawn – just call Helen to discuss!!
